My Grandma Taylor was an excellent cook, and 'monkey bread' was one of my favorite dishes prepared by her. Many of you have probably tried sweet 'monkey bread'. This recipe is for the most delicious pull-apart rolls, unsweetened style.
2 cups warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbs salt
1 Tbs yeast
Mix and let sit until bubbly.
Add 2 large eggs and 3 cups flour. STIR BUT DO NOT BEAT.
Add 4 Tbs oil and 3 more cups flour--(it will be sticky).
Cover and let rise until double. Roll out on floured surface. Cut in circles. Melt cube of marfarine in Bundt Pan. Place circles in pan, standing on sides like a pinwheel. Let rise to top of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Remove from oven and turn over onto serving plate.
These rolls are so good for Sunday dinner; and especially good with homemade jam. They'd be great for Conference Weekend!
